Demi Lovato on how she coped with 'awkward' nude photo shoot

Demi Lovato has said that she wasn’t entirely confident about posing nude for a photo shoot that involved no post production editing.

Demi stripped off for Vanity Fair with the agreement that the images taken of the ‘Cool For The Summer’ star would not be edited or retouched.

Talking to Access Hollywood about the make up-free, stripped-back shoot, Lovato stated:

“The most challenging part of that photo shoot for me was going in the buff with no Photoshop.”

She commented that she had to commit to the purpose of the photos: “There were times where I was looking at the pictures with the photographer and he would say, 'Oh, we could fix that,' and I was like, 'No, we can't. We cannot use Photoshop in this shoot'.”

Despite some feelings of unease whilst shooting, Demi said that keeping in mind the body-positive example she was setting got her through it:

“Of course it's awkward… But when I start to think about the message, when I would start to think about how many people this would inspire, I got more comfortable doing it.”
