Demi Lovato to fight it out with Pentatonix for US No.1 album

Demi Lovato is expected to have a chart battle on her hands this week in the US.

The singer released her latest effort 'Confident' on Friday (October 16).

Billboard report that the album is expected to shift 85,000 equivalent units in the week ending October 22.

However, the new self-titled record from vocal group Pentatonix is also expected to sell the same.

If Lovato peaks at No.1, she will have her second chart-topping album in the country.

She last hit the top spot with 2009's 'Here We Go Again'.

'Confident' is Lovato's fifth album to date, with her last coming via 2013's 'DEMI'.

Pentatonix meanwhile previously reached No.2 with 2014's 'That’s Christmas to Me'.

They were denied the No.1 spot by Taylor Swift's monolithic '1989'.
