Fans celebrate Demi Lovato during week star is hospitalized

Fans (Lovatics) of Demi Lovato who were hoping to see her in concert this Thursday (July 26), showed their support instead by holding an impromptu gathering at Atlantic City's BeachFest concert where the singer had been scheduled to perform.

The child actor, who has since become a highly-acclaimed music star, has battled addiction and depression for years, but was hospitalized this week due to an alleged overdose.

This led to an outpouring of love and support on social media and from many around the globe.

United by their concern for the star, Lovatics at the impromtu gathering sang the lyrics to her emotional track Sober, which recalls her recent relapse after six years of sobriety.

The song returned to the Top 10 on the US iTunes chart this week following the news of her being found unconscious in her home.

The singer is currently still in the hospital, and stars and fans alike have been voicing their support for her throughout. Her ex, Wilmer Valderrama, also visited her in hospital.

In July 2017, Lovato released the first single Sorry Not Sorry off her album which instantly flew into the Top 5 on the iTunes Charts and is now certified double-platinum. The hit has garnered over 500 million streams, climbed to No. 1 on the viral charts, and has over 290 million views for its house party video.

Her sixth studio album Tell Me You Love Me debuted at No. 1 on iTunes in 37 countries on September 29.

In addition to her critically hailed album release, the music star also released a 78-minute documentary, Simply Complicated, which has amassed over 13 million views to date.
