Demi Lovato wants to put her acting career on hold while she focuses mainly on making music. 

The Disney superstar has starred in several films and television shows, but has now revealed that getting back to music is her intention for the near future. She is about to kick off a headlining tour in North America and told Parade magazine:

"Over the next year, I just want to continue to tour and have fun with music. Acting will come second. Music is my number one passion and I want to stick to music for a while."

She explained that both singing and writing lyrics are incredibly cathartic exercises and being able to reach her fans through what her songs are about is very important, especially now after her stint in rehab for emotional issues:

"After 'Skyscraper' was released I feel like it definitely opened by my audience a little bit. I was no longer just hearing from the younger demographic. I was hearing, 'That song inspired me and I'm a 45-year-old who has dealt with this issue' or 'I'm a 26-year-old girl who is struggling with issues'."

"It really inspired me even more to just continue to make music and everything because it took off and had its own journey and it was just incredible, I was really excited."
