Former Disney star Demi Lovato had an incredibly successful night at the People's Choice Awards (January 11) where she picked up one of the event's biggest prizes. 

The 'Skyscraper' songstress won the title of Favourite Pop Artist, beating modern icon Lady Gaga, Bajan beauty Rihanna, record-breaker Katy Perry and new mother Beyoncé. 

A Twitter trend soon emerged for inspirational Lovato and she wrote a couple of messages on the social networking site to thank her fans for their overwhelming support:

"My fans are EVERYTHING to me... My world, my life... Thank you SO much for my PCA!!!! FAVORITE POP ARTIST!!! YAYYY!!!"
