Demi Lovato has opened up on her friendship with One Direction's Niall Horan.

The pop pair have constantly been romantically linked in the press and online and it was revealed earlier this year that they sometimes speak on Skype.

The Mirror quotes Lovato as saying that she has a "crush" on Horan and that they message each other often.

The X Factor USA judge appeared coy on the subject of a relationship, adding that the right person is "worth waiting for". She said:

"He has a lot of great qualities. He is an amazing listener and makes me laugh a lot, two of the main qualities I look for."

Lovato continued: "He knows I have a little crush on him, and we enjoy having dinner when we get the chance. We speak and message all the time. I don't want a relationship over Skype; we are both in a place where we feel zero pressure to rush. We share the philosophy that the right one is worth waiting for."
