Demi Lovato speaks out about being a role model

The ‘X Factor USA’ judge has given a frank and open interview about what life is like working on the show.

Speaking to Parade magazine, the 20-year-old singer also opened up about her personal battles with eating disorders and self-harm.

Speaking about her co-judges, the star had only good things to say, telling the magazine that she considers Britney Spears to be "sweet and humble," while describing L. A. Reid, who will be leaving the show at the end of the series, as “hilarious and smart.”

She was not quite as flattering about the show’s head judge, Simon Cowell, calling him “annoying and old.”

She added that though her time on the show has been emotional and stressful, she had enjoyed it.

Lovato went on to say that having “spoken out about” her personal demons and challenges in life, she feels “like a role model.”

The ‘X Factor USA’ will be shown on December 20.
