Demi Lovato admits X Factor USA has been "stressful"

As the finale of X Factor USA approaches, new panelist Demi Lovato has confessed that she's excited for it to come to an end as it's been a hard few months.

Speaking to Parade magazine about her involvement with the TV vocal talent show, the 'Give Your Heart A Break' beauty described it as "fun and exciting, but really stressful."

She added that it was especially hard to part with her contestants who had been voted off, because she felt connected to them after working in such close proximity with the singers:

"I was surprised at how emotionally invested I became. It hurts to see them go, especially when I know their potential. It's an honour to sit next to [the judges] because they're legends, but I'm a southern girl with a big mouth, and I speak my mind."

Meanwhile, music mogul Simon Cowell recently confirmed that Lovato will be performing a live duet with his all-girl group Fifth Harmony, and said during a press conference: "Kinda irritating to say, the person we've decided to duet with is Demi Lovato."

He wouldn't speak about the show's new season or if any of the judges are definitely set to return, and instead praised Lovato's personality and presence:

"It's that time of year [when] you're always going to get asked that question and I'm not going to answer it. She really, really is a tough little thing. I know she plays the 'I've been bullied' [card] - trust me, this one gives as good as she gets."
