'Skyscraper' beauty Demi Lovato has revealed that she's so glad to have joined 'X Factor USA' as a judge because meeting and building a relationship with Simon Cowell has meant the world to her.

During a new interview with Company magazine, Lovato explained that while he may put on a mean front for the cameras, he's actually one of the most loyal and caring people she has ever met:

"He's a grump. An old fart. But he has a heart that nobody gets to see. If he walked into this room, he'd treat everybody the same - he shakes everyone's hand."

While she is yet to announce news regarding her possible return to the show for another season, the hitmaker added that she feels as though she 'dived into work' a little too quickly but was able to fit into the role really well:

"I don't think I was ready when I started on the 'The X Factor'. In an ideal situation I would have maybe waited a year or more. I dived into work really quickly and maybe that wasn't the best idea at the time, but the place I am in today is so much better than I could have ever imagined, so I'm really glad."
