Demi Lovato speaks out about addiction and Cory Monteith's tragic death

'Made In The USA' hitmaker Demi Lovato has opened up about battling demons in light of the shocking death of 'Glee' superstar, Cory Monteith.

The beauty sought treatment herself back in 2010 for eating disorders and self harm, and confessed that an addiction is something that eats away at your mind in a way that makes it very difficult to control. Monteith, 31, died last weekend from an alcohol and heroin overdose.

Speaking to People magazine, Lovato explained that falling prey to addiction is easier than people might expect: "All it takes is one moment of vulnerability to get slipped into your addiction. He (Cory Monteith) didn't choose to die. It was the disease."

"It can creep up on you at any moment. It only takes one moment of relapse to potentially die. It's really scary, but I'm really hoping that from this, people are able to see this is a very, very, very dangerous disease."
