Demi Lovato says new X Factor USA panel is breeding positivity

Demi Lovato says negativity and feuding is a thing of the past on the US X Factor.

TV talent show judging panels often are afflicted with arguments but it seems this year's new group on X Factor USA is anything but.

Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio were recently added to the panel - meaning that the only male is Simon Cowell.

Speaking to MTV News, Lovato believes that the new additions and the associated female emphasis have created harmony on the panel, revealing:

"That's fun having a bunch of women on that panel, because it's like girl power and it brings a lighter energy to the show. Instead of having feuds on the panel, there's actually...It's all positive. Therefore it makes it fun to watch."

Lovato added that she is trying to be more honest this year following her debut series last year, saying:

"I've raised my bar, I put a lot of people through last year that had the overall package but didn't have the best voices. And now I've raised the bar where I am not putting anyone through that I don't think has the winning vocal capability and so I say no to a lot of people. I may come across as a mean judge, but it's very matter of fact and I'm very, very brutally honest."
