Demi Lovato has confirmed that she will quit the US X Factor after its current series comes to an end this month.

The singer has been a judge on the show for two seasons, but she told reporters last night (December 18) that her days are numbered.

This is due to the 'Skyscraper' star wanting to devote more time to furthering her own career.

Lovato said: "In 2014, I'm going to dedicate it entirely to music, touring and making a new album."

The singer is due to head out on her Neon Lights North America tour from February.

Fellow judge and X Factor mogul Simon Cowell added: "I always knew she wasn't coming back because she's touring, so I knew that."

He meanwhile recently went on record to suggest that Miley Cyrus would be a "dream" judge on the TV talent show.
