Diplo helped Justin Bieber with his new album's 'overall sound'

Diplo has revealed that he was on hand to help Justin Bieber write his next album.

The Canadian singer is expected to release his latest record later this year.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, DJ and producer Diplo said that he worked with the 21-year-old after previously collaborating under his Jack U project on the track 'Where Are U Now'

The music man said: "I just listened to his music, advised and made adjustments to new songs.

"I helped with the overall feel of the sound that we started with Jack U and raced a lot of ioHawks in the studio."

Bieber recently released the track 'What Do You Mean?' as the first single from his upcoming record.

It reached No.1 across the globe, from the UK to Australia.
