Hitmaker Diplo has revealed that teaming up with Justin Bieber for the song 'Where Are U Now' was a risky move, but one that really paid off.

During a new chat with On Air with Ryan, the producer explained that people didn't understand the unlikely pairing at first: "I felt like it was such a crazy idea -- you know, Diplo, Skrillex, Justin Bieber. It was so outrageous that it had to either scare people or be a success. With Justin he needed to take a 180, 100 percent."

Diplo went onto add that after a few months, the public seemed to really get on board with the collaborative track and it ended up being very popular:

"People just didn't understand it at all, but six months later, it became really popular but it took a long, long time for people to kind of adjust to what that record sounded like."
