Drake sitting pretty for the 15th week at No.1 in the UK with 'One Dance'

Drake's 'One Dance' is edging closer to making UK chart history.

The singer's track is currently leading the singles chart midweek update, meaning that he is in pole position to secure at 15th consecutive week at the top.

If he stays put come Friday (July 22), Drake will match Wet Wet Wet's 'Love Is All Round' run in 1994.

The all-time record stands at 16 weeks, with Bryan Adams achieving the feat in 1991 with '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You'.

Drake, however, is only 373 copies ahead of Jonas Blue's 'Perfect Strangers'.

At No.3 on the midweek update is Calum Scott's 'Dancing On My Own', with Chainsmokers' 'Don't Let Me Down' following.

At No.5 is Clean Bandit's 'Tears', which rises three places.

Shawn Mendes rises to No.9 with 'Treat You Better', while 5 Seconds of Summer are a new entry at No.12 with 'Girls Talk Boys'.

Katy Perry's surprise new single 'Rise' meanwhile enters at No.13.
