Drake unveils cover art for new album 'Nothing Was The Same'

Canadian hip-hop star Drake has return to his childhood for his new album's official artwork.

He unveiled the design earlier today (August 22) and told his followers on Twitter that it was created by the artist Kadir Nelson.

A brief biography on Nelson's personal website explains that he is "an award-winning American artist whose works have been exhibited in major national and international publications, institutions, art galleries, and museums."

The image is split and shows Drake both as a very young child and him now in the present day, and both likenesses are set against a stunning blue-sky background (shown below). In addition to sharing the artwork, he confirmed that the record is set to be released on September 24.

Drake has also been added to the list of live performers that will rock the MTV VMAs on August 25 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
