“Kapaun’s Battle” is based on the true story of the brave and loving Father Emil Kapaun’s time in the Korean war. Scheduled for production in 2022. He was an amazing man who, despite being at war, lifted the spirits of all the people around him.

Father Kapaun was a great man who was never concerned with his own safety, not even in the middle of battle. Capt. (Father) Emil J. Kapaun, posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor, while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in the forgotten war in Korea.
He saved many American Soldiers’ lives during the Korean War, some literally and others emotionally. He will never be forgotten.

The book, Kapaun’s Battle, by Jeff Gress, depicts Capt. Kapaun in action, on the battlefield, saving the lives of many American soldiers, some literally and others emotionally, losing his own life in his service to others while in a Chinese prison camp.

Emil J. Kapaun was born into a farming family near Pilsen Kansas in 1916.  So when he died in 1951 he was only 35 years of age.

His parents were of Bohemian families from the present-day Czech Republic. Emil’s father, Enos, was an immigrant, and his mother, Elizabeth ‘Bessie’, was born to Bohemian immigrant parents.
His life was largely centered around the St. John of Nepomucene Church in Pilsen. His home church, his parents married there, he celebrated his first mass there. 

He was appointed an auxiliary chaplain in January 1943 at Herington Army Airfield, Kansas, entering the U.S. Army Chaplain School at Ft. Devens, MA in August 1944. Graduating in October he was sent to Camp Wheeler, GA before going to the Burma Theater from April 1945 to May 1946.

He was a hero to all, regardless of their religion, a man who will be forever remembered not only as a hero but also as a Saint.

Ethen Boyle plays the role of Father Emil J. Kapaun. Ethen brings his experience as an actor to the big screen making “Kapaun's Battle” an emotionally heartwarming accurate depiction of the Korean War to the viewers. 

Not all war movies are the same. Kapaun’s Battle is a true story of a heroic young man, Father Emil J. Kapaun. He risked his own life to save American Soldiers.
