Channel 3 WFSB New London Bureau Chief www.wfsb.com Kevin Hogan, will be receiving the second ever New England Music Hall of Fame (NEMHOF) Lifetime Achievement Award https://nemhof.com/nemhof-media%2Fmusic-awards. The award will only be given once every two years Fellow WFSB reporter Denise D’ascenzo was the first recipient of this honor as she was posthumously honored in 2020 New England Music Hall of Fame’s mission is to “Unite, Educate, Promote and Preserve the integrity of New England’s music history and culture.” NEMHOF created the award to recognize the importance and impact that media has on preserving history and helping the community.

Like Denise, Kevin was nominated based on his professional approach towards researching and delivering the news. The New England Music Hall of Fame also recognizes Kevin’s countless charitable work with various individuals and organizations.

Kevin is a native to the Nutmeg State. He's been a broadcaster since 1973. Born in New Haven and raised in Ansonia, Kevin graduated from Kolbe High School in Bridgeport. Kevin went to Western Connecticut State University. Throughout his career Kevin worked for such radio and T.V. News stations as WNEW-TV. WELI-AM, WAVZ , and WKCI (KC101). Hogan has won many awards in broadcasting however his biggest award was winning Connecticut’s audience over. After a 48 year career Kevin Hogan will be retiring this year from WFSB.

Kevin will be presented his award at the Hollywood All Stars www.thehollywoodallstars.netconcert Friday August 26th at Sacred Heart Community Theater Fairfield, CT. Vocalist: Tom Bowes – Seven years lead vocalist with the legendary Tower of Power, and has also fronted Blood Sweat & Tears and also fronts The Bernie Williams Collective, a group begun by New York Yankee and Jazz Guitarist, Bernie Williams.

Vocalist: Chevy Chevis – Has performed as background vocalist with Beyonce, Chaka, Madonna, Arianna Grande, Adele, J-Lo, and on and on.

The Uptown Horns: This legendary horn section has toured and/or recorded with The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant and The J. Geils Band, to name just a few, and who’s recording credits on over 150 albums, also include James Brown’s Grammy Award winning “Living in America”.

​Guitar: Andy Abel – well known Connecticut native who’s played with Blood Sweat and Tears, Talking Heads, Chieli Minucci, Marion Meadows.

Bassist: Scott Spray – Grammy Nominated Bassist and Songwriter, recorded on over 750 albums, and a longtime touring and recording member of the Johnny and Edgar Winter Groups.

Drummer: Lee Finkelstein – Drummer with The Original Blues Brothers Band, who while not touring, works regularly with Jazz Guitarist John Tropea, and Felicia Collins of David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra.

Percussionist: Eddie Torres – Turning the beat around from the Vickie Sue Robinson band.
