British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he has been in a relationship for some time although he quashed rumours that suggest he's dating a model and insisted she's not in the entertainment industry. 

During a new interview with Capital FM's Max, the hitmaker admitted that he isn't dating someone who walks a runway for living although he is no longer single: "No, I'm not... I'm not dating a model. Well, no she's not a model and she's 5ft 2 if this girl's worried about her being 5ft. 4."

The DJ then suggested that maybe his girlfriend is just a short model, to which Sheeran explained: "She's not a model at all, no... or a musician!"

The 'Lego House' superstar took to his official Twitter page earlier this afternoon and told his followers that the full interview is set to air later this evening (April 7): "On with @thisismaxonline on @CapitalOfficial having a chat tonight at 10pm."

Sheeran, meanwhile, is set to premiere his brand new single, entitled 'Sing', later tonight on BBC Radio 1 as part of Zane Lowe's show. He will then release his highly anticipated new album in June.
