Ed Sheeran announces North America tour

Ed Sheeran has confirmed plans to return to North America on tour.

The singer-songwriter spent much of 2013 supporting Taylor Swift on her Red Tour around the continent.

The Brit has now announced that he will play a number of headline shows in August and September in promotion of his new album 'x', which is slated for a June 23 release.

It will kick off in Seattle on August 22 before concluding in Toronto on September 18.
