Ed Sheeran's new song highest charting single in US to date

Ed Sheeran has revealed that his new single is his best performing song in the US to date.

The music man recently unleashed the track 'Sing' as the first tune from his upcoming second album 'x'.

Whilst it has not yet been released in the UK, the song has charted highly in the US Billboard Hot 100.

The Pharrell Williams produced track has landed at No.15, bettering his previous record of No.16 ('The A Team').

Sheeran took to Twitter to say: "Within a week of radio plays and sales, SING is now my highest charting single ever in the states. Mental. Thanks to everyone supporting it."

The singer-songwriter has been in America to promote the track on the likes of Saturday Night Live.

'Sing' meanwhile will be released in the UK on June 1, with 'x' coming out on June 23.
