Ed Sheeran: 'I don't sell records based on my looks'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that he sells music as a result of his talent because he doesn't rely on looks to shift albums.

Speaking to Q magazine, the 'Sing' superstar admitted that he has never used his appearance to gain fans or to attract exposure and instead keeps focused on his music: "I don't think I've ever sold records based on my looks, which is positive, cos it means that even if I do become a fat slob when I'm older, it won't matter."

Referring to the confessional nature of his new album, Sheeran added that he won't be revealing any names because he doesn't think that would be gentlemanly:

"I'm British so I have to be a gentleman in these situations and not say any names. But you know what? I spent a year in America and did what any young lad would, which is experience Hollywood life. I think it's the best way to put it..."

Over the weekend, Sheeran took to his official Twitter page and confirmed that he will be sharing new music with his followers on a weekly basis: "Gonna be dropping a video every saturday for a while. new songs on the way one after the other x."
