Ed Sheeran: 'My video for 'Sing' had 2.5 million views in just 22 hours'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that he can't believe how many views his new music video for 'Sing' has attracted since it dropped yesterday (May 22) via Facebook.

Writing on his Twitter page this afternoon, the star explained that it has already had over 2.5 million hits in less than a 24-hour period, which is overwhelming: "Sing video has had 2.5 million views in 22 hours on Facebook. Which is awesome as hell. Gonna put the YouTube link up in a couple of hours x."

He described the video for 'Sing' as "really, really weird": "The concept is The Muppets going out on a night out with a bunch of Korean business men who sing karaoke and then kidnapping me and Pharrell and taking us to that karaoke bar. Oh, and there’s also a bunch of strippers in it. It’s really weird, really weird, I don’t know what I was on.”

The hitmaker will perform later on Jools Holland's TV show and recently confessed that he will also premiere a brand new song during his appearance. Tweeting about the slot earlier today (May 23), Sheeran wrote: "Tune into later with Jools Holland tonight on BBC2, I'm playing 3 new songs. One of them is with Jools on piano which was a childhood dream."
