Ed Sheeran prefers bigger venues: 'I probably break the singer-songwriter trend in that sense'

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he prefers to play in bigger venues.

The Brit's music often just utilises his voice and acoustic guitar, but he seems he thinks big when it comes to live shows.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Sheeran suggested that his "aspirations" have changed in recent times as he seeks to become as big as possible.

The 'Sing' star said: "I really love the big venues. I probably break the singer/songwriter trend in that sense because I like the big, energetic, live thing. I've changed in the sense that my dreams and aspirations have become bigger. They don't have a limit on them now."

Talking meanwhile about fellow Brit Sam Smith, Sheeran said: "I'm bowled over by how sweet he is. There doesn't seem to be a bad bone in his body. He's just very calmly, quietly spoken and then this voice comes out of nowhere.

"He doesn't seem to be someone that would get that angry. He's never going to have a diva strop, I can tell you that for free."

Sheeran meanwhile released his second album 'x' on Monday (June 23) and it instantly shot to No.1 across the world.
