Ed Sheeran on Taylor Swift: 'She owns the US pop scene'

Ed Sheeran has praised Taylor Swift's dominance of the US music scene.

The 'Red' star is one of the biggest names in the industry and she took Sheeran on tour with her last year across the States.

This significantly boosted the Brit's profile in North America and he told Zane Lowe's new MTV show that her knowledge helped him to get bigger in the US.

Sheeran said: "[Taylor] owns the US pop scene. She knows how to do it. In England I was a commercially successful artist, but I came to the US as an alternative artist playing shows with Snow Patrol.

"She not only opened doors for me in the pop world but told me how to do it. You have to do all radio shows at Christmas and do all those sessions. The key is not to lose that."

The duo meanwhile teamed up for the collaboration 'Everything Has Changed' on Swift's 2012 album 'Red'.
