Ed Sheeran reigns over UK albums chart for fourth consecutive week

Ed Sheeran is still the UK’s No. 1 album having now stayed at the top of the chart for four weeks.

Sheeran’s second album ‘x’ has not moved from the top spot since its release a month ago.

‘x’ is now the longest running No. 1 album of the year to date, overtaking Paolo Nutini’s three week run at the top back in April with ‘Caustic Love’.

Ed Sheeran’s ‘x’ (pronounced “multiply”) has now sold over 367,000 copies in the UK to date.

This week’s highest new entry comes from Morrissey with his tenth solo album ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’ at No. 2.

The rest of this week’s top five is made up by all non-movers; Dolly Parton’s ‘Blue Smoke’ at No. 3, ‘In The Lonely Hour’ by Sam Smith at No. 4, and George Ezra with ‘Wanted On Voyage’ at No. 5.

Other than Morrissey, new entries to the rest of the chart come from Jungle at No. 7 with their self-titled debut album, Judas Priest at No. 12 with ‘Redeemer Of Souls’, Rise Against just behind at No. 13 with ‘The Black Market’, and Jason Mraz at No. 18 with his fifth album ‘Yes!’.
