Ed Sheeran's 'x' No.1 on midweek UK albums chart

Ed Sheeran is on course to spend a sixth consecutive week at the top of the UK albums chart.

The Brit is currently enjoying huge success with his second record 'x' and the Official Charts Company today (July 30) confirmed that it is still No.1.

The midweek update states that the album is 4,500 copies ahead of the second placed 'The Breeze' by Eric Clapton and Friends.

In at No.3 on the list is Dolly Parton's 'Blue Smoke', whilst Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' new entry 'Hypnotic Eye' follows at No.4.

Rounding off the top five on the midweek update is Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour'.

Neon Jungle - who Pressparty recently chatted to - are No.6 with their debut effort 'Welcome to the Jungle', whilst Cher Lloyd's new effort 'Sorry I'm Late' rests at No.12.
