Ed Sheeran has lavished praise on Taylor Swift's new single.

The US star has released the track 'Shake It Off' as the first track from her upcoming record '1989'.

The tune is set to hit No.1 in the US and its upbeat sound has gone down well with listeners.

Her close friend and touring comrade Ed Sheeran is a fan of the track too, with the singer-songwriter telling Hollywire:

"I think it's brilliant. It's very inspirational."

Swift's '1989' meanwhile will be released on October 27.
