Ed Sheeran records four new songs in one night

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he recorded four new songs and wrote another in just one night.

The singer-songwriter released his latest album 'x' this summer, but it seems his creative juices are already flowing again.

Speaking on Twitter today (September 24), the Brit said that he cut a number of new tracks to tape last night.

He also revealed that he wrote a brand new tune in addition to the recording session.

Sheeran wrote: "1 new song written and 4 new songs recorded and finished tonight, good nights work!"

The reveal came minutes after the 'Sing' star announced a batch of Australia and New Zealand tour dates.

The musician will head to the region in March and April for four dates. The schedule is as follows:

  • March 20 - Brisbane, Riverstage
  • March 24 - Sydney, Qantas Credit Union Arena
  • March 28 - Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
  • April 1 - Adelaide, AEC Arena
  • April 4 - Perth, Perth Arena
