Ed Sheeran has confirmed plans to play Wembley Stadium next year.

The singer-songwriter will play the massive London venue on July 10.

It will mark the end of his touring cycle for new album 'x', which was released earlier this year.

The Brit commented: "I’ve made no secret recently of my ambition to play Wembley Stadium on my own in front of 80,000 people, so I am absolutely over the moon to be able to announce it’s going to happen next Summer. It’s going to be amazing, I just can’t wait."

The show will go on public sale from 9am UK time on November 28.

An O2 presale meanwhile will take place on 9am UK time on November 26.
