Ed Sheeran racks up his tenth week at the top of the UK albums chart

Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ is now spending it’s tenth non-consecutive week at No. 1.

Last week marked Sheeran’s sophomore record surpassing the one million sales mark in the UK. This week saw him selling a further 152,000 copies which secured him yet another week at the top of the chart.

This week’s top five albums is populated solely by male British artists with Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ up two to No. 2, Olly Murs’ ‘Never Been Better’ up three to No. 3, One Direction’s ‘Four’ up one to No. 4, and George Ezra’s ‘Wanted On Voyage’ up two to No. 5.

Movements in the rest of this week's chart come in the form of Michael Buble’s ‘Christmas’ re-appearing at No. 10, a re-issue of Paloma Faith’s ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ moving up to No. 15, Collabro’s re-packaged ‘Stars’ sitting at No. 19 and Union J’s ‘You Got It All’ debuting at No. 28.
