Ed Sheeran has performed an unlikely duet.

The singer-songwriter teamed up with Kermit the Frog for a tune on the first US Red Nose Day.

The telethon, which took place on Thursday (May 21), saw Sheeran and the puppet perform 'Rainbow Connection'.

Kermit said: "Could all you folks call in and help to donate for kids and help them out?"

Sheeran added: "It would mean a lot to me, it would mean a lot to thousands of kids around the world but most of all it would mean a lot to Kermit because he's not allowed to go back to the swamp unless he brings back the bacon."

The Brit meanwhile won the Songwriter of the Year prize at Thursday's (May 21) Ivor Novello Awards in London.
