Ed Sheeran's first concert film to be shown in cinemas next month

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has made an exciting announcement this morning and confirmed that his first-ever concert film 'Jumpers for Goalposts' will be released next month.

A one-off cinema event will take place on Thursday, October 22 and it will be broadcast live via satellite in cinemas across the globe from the world premiere at London's Leicester Square. Sheeran will also be performing live at the premiere and the film is set to be screened in full.

He unveiled a trailer for 'Jumpers For Goalposts' today (September 17), which can be seen below, and tickets for showings at local participating cinemas will go on sale from Thursday, September 24 here.

A press release about the project reads: "Jumpers for Goalposts brings together Ed’s captivating performances from the biggest shows of his career at Wembley Stadium in July 2015, where he wows the 80,000 strong crowd with his biggest hits to date, including “The A Team”, “Sing” and “Thinking Out Loud” – and there’s even a surprise duet from Sir Elton John."

"As well as his breath-taking onstage performance, Jumpers for Goalposts is intercut with the story of Ed’s triumphant road to Wembley, presenting a revealing and personal glimpse into life backstage and on the road, along with an honest and intimate reflection by Ed – and those closest to him – on just how far he has come."
