Ed Sheeran set for Red Nose Day special: 'I'll never forget the kids I met on this trip'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will perform with children in Liberia in a special film that will be broadcast on March 24 as part of the Red Nose Day programming.

Speaking to the BBC about the unforgettable experience, the 'Castle on the Hill' sensation said: "I'll never forget the kids I met on this trip. When we sang together. They were in such high spirits despite everything they'd been through."

Sheeran, who will release his forthcoming new album on March 2, added: "It was an incredibly eye-opening experience and I'm really proud to support Comic Relief and see what they are doing to help these children have a better future."

The BBC reports that lots of children he visited while at the Street Child Liberia project were orphaned by the recent Ebola outbreak. Red Nose Day raises money for the charity Comic Relief, which works to help those in poverty in the UK and around the world.
