Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has been confirmed as the first performer for 2012's Wakestock Festival. 

The 'Lego House' hitmaker revealed the exciting news to his 770,000 followers on Twitter this morning, November 28, and wrote:

"I'm delighted to announce that I am headlining wakestock festival next year."

The event, which is centred around the adrenaline-inducing sport wakeboarding, is set to run from July 6-8 next year and will be held at Cardigan Bay, North Wales. Tickets for Wakestock are due to go on sale at 9am on December 1.
