The first couple of acts for 2012's Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks have been confirmed.

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, whose debut album '+' was recently certified Double Platinum, will perform at the opening party events on June 5 and 6 and indie stars Two Door Cinema Club are set to close with gigs on September 18 and 19. 

Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat about the announcement, Two Door Cinema Club's Alex Trimble explained that the band are really excited to head out to the island as they've not played in Ibiza before:

"We've never played Ibiza or Mallorca before, so it's pretty exciting for us to be able to do it. We're getting our second album together so there'll probably be lots of new material. Obviously we'll play stuff from the first album, but maybe we'll try and get something special together, fireworks or something."
