Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sandé have been lined up to perform at this year's BRIT Awards nominations party on January 12.

The news was announced by the BRIT Awards Twitter page yesterday (January 8), with the performances due to be shown online after the event.

They tweeted:

"*clears throat* Proud to announce that @emelisande and @edsheeran will be performing at Thursday's nominations launch event."

Emeli Sandé of course has already won the Critics' Choice gong at this year's awards, following in the footsteps of esteemed alumni such as Adele, Jessie J and Ellie Goulding. Sandé admitted that the award "means the world" to her as she continues her rise to fame.
