Ed Sheeran overwhelmed by response to his free EP

Ed Sheeran's free EP, which he treated fans to on Valentine's Day, had such an overwhelming response that he has taken to Twitter to thank his followers for their incredible support.

The 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' star released 'The Slumdon Bridge' cut for free yesterday, February 14, and it had over 100,000 downloads in the first 16 hours of being on sale.

Sheeran wrote a message of gratitude on the social networking site that read:

"108,000 downloads in the first 16 hours of mine and @Yelawolf's free EP. Anyone who hasn't got it, grab it here - http://bit.ly/wcYw0G!"

The EP features 'You Don't Know (For F*** Sake)', which was unveiled recently, and also includes three other tracks called 'London Bridge', 'Faces' and 'Tone'.
