Ed Sheeran makes US album chart record with '+'

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is set to break an American chart record with his major label debut album '+'.

According to Asylum Records, the fantastic record debuted in the U.S. albums chart at No.5 and this impressive feat has made Sheeran the highest-entering debut ever for a UK male artist. They tweeted:

"Huge Congrats to our amazing @edsheeran who's entered the US Album Chart at No.5. We're told this is the highest ever debut for a UK male!!!"

Sheeran had previously hit the top of the US and Canada iTunes charts too, with Asylum Records tweeting on June 14:

"Congratulations to the unstoppable @edsheeran! '+' enters at Number 1 on US and Canada iTunes charts."

The talented vocalist and guitarist has also been confirmed to headline one of the upcoming iTunes Festival dates later this summer.
