Ed Sheeran loves the "close" relationship he shares with One Direction singer Harry Styles.

The British singer-songwriter has formed a firm friendship with the five piece - also comprising of Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

Sheeran - who co-wrote the band's hit single 'Little Things' - has revealed the member he has the most in common with. ''Harry is the one I'm closest to. I made friends with him before I knew who the band was.''

Sheeran has also found a friend in Taylor Swift - Styles' rumoured ex-girlfriend - but admits that there are no romantic feelings between them.

He told People magazine: ''We met by just being fans of each other and reaching out. Then we just started hanging out. We have the same kind of work ethic. But I don't know if I'm her type.''

The 'A Team' hitmaker revealed his ideal partner though, cheekily adding: ''Emma Stone is my dream girl but she's all taken so I need to find someone else.''
