Ed Sheeran: "Elton John Grammys duet was his idea"

Ed Sheeran has revealed that Sir Elton John was the one who asked him to perform a duet at the Grammys.

The 'A Team' star is due to team up with the veteran musician at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 10.

Speaking to MTV, Sheeran said that he received a phone call out of the blue from John inviting the singer to perform with him at the showbiz get-together. He revealed:

"He put it together. He rung me up one day and said, 'How would you feel about performing with me at the Grammys?' I was like, 'I'll check my schedule'."

Sheeran continued: "He's been in touch for the past kind of three years, but has mostly become very prominent when we started to break the States, 'cos he knows the States like the back of his hand."

The 'Lego House' man is also nominated for a Grammy this year, with his track 'The A Team' up for the Song of the Year gong.
