Ed Sheeran on his career: 'I still have to pay my dues'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that while he's incredibly successful in his native UK, he feels as though he still has to 'pay his dues' in America.

During a new interview with Teen Vogue, which is available to read in full today (June 2), the 'Lego House' superstar explained that he's still relatively new in the USA so has to experience the 'rise to fame' there as he did in England:

"I think I've been around for a while. But I still have to pay my dues. I've got to be known as the new kid [a little longer]."

Sheeran also opened up about the nurting home environment he grew up in, crediting his parents with his work ethic and dedication to music:

"My parents worked in the art world. They were really supportive of my music in that they allowed me to drop out of school and move out of our home, which not many parents would do."
