Ed Sheeran has been confirmed to help Christina Aguilera on The Voice.

The British singer-songwriter will mentor the US star's acts during the new series' battle rounds.

The episodes will air on October 14 and 15 as the 'A Team' man comes aboard to advise Aguilera.

The pair are also featured in a new promotional photo ahead of Sheeran's appearance.

Last year, Christina Aguilera teamed up with Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong to enlist the punk-rocker as a mentor.

The first episode of The Voice season five meanwhile is due to air in the US on September 23.
