Ed Sheeran: 'My songs were rejected for 'Hunger Games' and 'Twilight' soundtracks'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has confessed that he was turned down for the 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' soundtrack despite pitching producers a total of three original songs.

Speaking to Click989 about wanting to be considered for the movie's soundtrack, the 'Lego House' superstar confessed that he suggested a trio of what he thought were appropriate cuts although they were all rejected: "I pitched three songs to them and they were all turned down. I pitched songs to 'Twilight' and they were turned down as well. I don't know if my songs fit in films."

When asked why he was so keen to get his music featured on the silver screen, Sheeran explained that it would be great to 'branch out' and try something new:

"For me, I just wanted to branch out a little bit. I've been primarily on radio or YouTube and I haven't had anything on a film ever. There was a chance it would go on the soundtrack but, yeah, it didn't."

Coldplay, meanwhile, have contributed a song to the 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' called 'Atlas' and a snippet of it premiered earlier today.
