Ellie Goulding on course for UK No.1 album

Ellie Goulding looks set to achieve her second UK No.1 album this weekend.

Musicweek report that the Brit's 'Halcyon' is currently on course to top the albums chart on Sunday (January 5).

The record was released in 2012 but was re-issued in 2013 with some new tracks, including 'Burn'.

It is currently 5,000 copies ahead of Gary Barlow's 'Since I Saw You Last', which sits at No.2. If Goulding stays at No.1, it will follow her 2010 chart-topping debut 'Lights'.

Beyoncé's surprise self-titled album has risen one place to No.3 whilst Robbie Williams' 'Swings Both Ways' has dropped to No.4.

One Direction's 'Midnight Memories' meanwhile, which ended 2013 as the year's top selling record, has fallen seven places to No.10.
