Ellie Goulding: 'I could crack a walnut with my thighs'

Songstress Ellie Goulding has admitted that she is so fit that she thinks she could probably crack the shell of a nut with her legs thanks to her intense running schedule.

Speaking about her love of jogging after the 2014 BRITs, Goulding confessed that she is significantly stronger and her leg muscles are impressive: "I think I probably can crack a walnut with my thighs. I’d give it a go! I used to get bad knees, but not anymore. I stretch before I work out now."

The 'Starry Eyed' superstar added that she still gets nervous before giving a performance and it's a good thing because it means she doesn't get complacent:

"‘If I didn’t get nervous I wouldn’t give my best performance. I’d give a mediocre performance so I have to go for it and be exciting. I’ve paid a lot of people to cheer to encourage me."

Goulding, meanwhile, picked up the British Female Solo Artist prize at last night's (February 19) BRIT Awards in London and revealed her shock at triumphing over such impressive competition. Also in the running for the coveted title were Jessie J, Laura Marling, and Birdy.
