Ellie Goulding: 'I'm strong, but I need my vulnerability to write songs'

'Burn' hitmaker Ellie Goulding has revealed that while she thinks it's important to have inner strength, she thinks it's also really good to be emotionally available and to not have a wall around yourself.

During a recent interview with Glamour magazine, the beauty explained that she likes her vulnerability and uses it when she's writing songs:

"There's an innate part of me that's very strong. But there'll always be that part of me that I go to to write songs, that weakness, that vulnerability. That's what I access to write my music. In this industry, oh God do you need a thick skin."

"But it's that thinner skin that's got me here. So you have to be sensible enough to know when to be strong and when to be weak. And when you accept that, you can succumb to it."
