Ellie Goulding on Ed Sheeran: 'I didn't write a song about him'

Superstar Ellie Goulding has stressed that she never wrote a diss song about Ed Sheeran and actually has a lot of respect for the British singer-songwriter.

During an interview with Seventeen magazine, the 'Burn' beauty admitted that she thinks Sheeran is wonderfully talented and she considers him to be a great guy, so gets annoyed when people assume she wrote a negative song about him:

"We've known each other for a few years. I think he's a really nice guy and a brilliant musician. We've bumped into each other and we've hung out and stuff, but the thing is if I hang out with someone, it's instantly like I'm 'dating' them. We were never in a relationship. My song is not about him."

As previously reported, Goulding also opened up about dating One Direction's Niall Horan and added that he's one of her very good friends now despite their lack of romantic connection: "We're still friends. We went on a few dates, and it was really fun. He's a really, really lovely guy. He's got the biggest sense of humour, he's very caring, and I see him as a genuine friend in the industry."
