Ellie Goulding has revealed whether she will write music about her split from Dougie Poynter.

The musical pair recently called time on their relationship after around two years.

Speaking to heat, Goulding said that she will let the dust settle before deciding whether to pen lyrics about Poynter.

However, she is sure any possible music would be positive towards the McFly man.

Goulding said: "Everyone knows I write about things that have happened in my life, but it's too early to say.

"It's very new and very different and I think people forget me breaking up with someone is no different to them breaking up with someone - it's s**t.

"But if I do write about him, it will probably be nice stuff."
