Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has promised fans that her follow up album to 'Lights' will be "different", but she won't reveal any specific details that might ruin the surprise.

Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat, she explained:

"I feel like I'll jinx it if I talk about it, but it's definitely different. I've been recording in America. I've been there quite a lot because I've been touring."

I'll be back [in the UK] soon and I'm just looking forward to the new album coming out now."

The 'Starry Eyed' singer also opened up about Janet Devlin's X Factor audition after her vocal style was likened to that of Goulding's and said:

"I thought she was really sweet, but I don't think she sounds like me. I think I'm the only one with that opinion though. She's very sweet and very pretty, I hope she does really well."
